Airline salutes Lady Liberty in travel promotion

British Airways has created a giant piece of coin art in one of its hangers to celebrate the launch of its discount season, the "Big British Airways Take Off."

The airline used 600,000 coins to sketch out the Statue of Liberty, as a nod to its flagship destination, New York.

The coins were delivered from a London bank vault to the hangar, where a team of seven took six hours to construct the image. It measures 10 meters by eight meters (32.8 feet by 26.2 feet).
