BrewDog hunts for brand activation agency

BrewDog, the rebellious Scottish craft brewer, is on the lookout for an agency to handle below-the-line activity.

It is the first time the company has searched for a brand activation agency.

Sarah Warman, the head of marketing at BrewDog, took to Twitter to solicit recommendations for "an outstanding brand activation agency in the UK" earlier this week.

Last year Stonewall, the LGBT rights group, called for BrewDog to spike an ad that it believed mocked transgender people.

In 2013 BrewDog’s co-founder James Watt told Campaign’s sister title Marketing that he "would rather set his money on fire" than invest in traditional advertising.

Warman told Campaign: "This is the first time we’ve explored brand activation, so we’re testing the waters, and whichever agency we recruit will work closely with our in-house team and The Romans [PR agency] to create a seamless approach."
