The review is being handled by AAR and UK agencies have been contacted with the creative brief, which is understood to exclude the US market.
The review is being steered by CMO Pepijn Rijvers, who stepped up to the chief marketing role a year ago.
W&K Amsterdam, the incumbent, declined to comment on the review or whether it would repitch.
W&K Amsterdam has worked on Booking.com’s creative account since 2012. W&K also handles the US account. Earlier this year, Booking.com appointed AnalogFolk to handle its global digital marketing. Mindshare looks after Booking.com’s media planning and buying and is unaffected by the review. Booking.com declined to comment.
The review comes less than a month after Booking.com’s chief executive since 2013, Darren Huston – also chief executive of parent Priceline Group – resigned.
