BMW's 3 Series is 40 years old and, to mark the occasion, FCB Inferno has created an outdoor and press campaign that does its best to whip up some nostalgia for the car range.
Copy in the work references significant moments in culture over the past four decades and corresponding information about the 3 Series, while the art direction uses colours and typography that represent different eras. The activity went live on outdoor sites across London on 18 May and will also appear in newspapers and magazines, including bespoke formats in the Telegraph and BBC Top Gear’s retro supplement. The work was written by Simon Cenamor and art directed by Ben Edwards and Adam Booker. The photographer was Mark Bramley.
