Blue 449 scoops brief from flooring retailer

Tapi, a new flooring retailer, has hired Blue 449 to handle its media planning and buying account after a competitive pitch.

The agency formerly known as Walker Media was appointed by Tapi ahead of plans to roll out 200 stores over the next few years.

Johanna Constantinou, the marketing director at Tapi, said: "We are a fast-growth business with rapid roll-out plans so are delighted to be partnering with a media agency with the retail expertise of Blue 449."

Tapi was set up by Martin Harris, the son of the former Carpetright chairman Lord Harris.

Simon Davis, Blue 449’s chief executive, said: "Tapi has spotted a clear gap in the market for a customer-focused approach that provides an enjoyable, quality retail experience without the hard sell."
