Bestival announces relocation to Dorset

Music festival Bestival has announced that it will no longer hold the annual event on the Isle of Wight, but will relocate to a new site in Dorset.

The relocation follows a fall in visitor numbers at this year's event, with the festival having already downsized its original site on the Isle of Wight. Bestival has been staged on the Isle of Wight since 2004, where it has welcomed acts such as The Cure, New Order, Bjork, LCD Soundsystem and many more.

Bestival has also played host to the Jägerhaus, having teamed up with Jägermeister to create a place where new and upcoming bands could perform to a festival audience.

Festival curator Rob Da Bank has filed for a license to stage Bestival at Lulworth Estate in Dorset, the current home of Bestival's sister festival, Camp Bestival. Da Bank has also stated that there will be new stages and installations for Bestival 2017, which is being held from 7-10 September, and that plans are in place to create a new event on the Isle of Wight.

Last month, The Clothes Show announced a relocation to Liverpool. In September, Event went behind the scenes at Bestival examining activations from Jägermeister, Bulmers and Nando's.
