Behind the scenes: EE's giant pin at Marble Arch

of

Commuters in central London were greeted with a surprise new landmark today as EE dropped a giant Google location pin at London's iconic Marble Arch.

The move is designed to celebrate the UK launch of Pixel and Pixel XL phones by Google, which are going on sale in EE stores nationwide from tomorrow (20 October).

The pin, which was nearly 700 times bigger than a Google map pin and taller than a double decker London bus, marks the arrival of the much-anticipated handsets in the UK, with the local Marble Arch and EE stores nationwide set to sell thousands of the new handsets in the first week.

Pixel and Pixel XL will be available to consumer and business customers. EE is the exclusive network provider for the new Google handset.

EE and BT Sport staged a virtual reality (VR) experience last month, enabling football fans to experience a VR-Premier League football clash between Chelsea and Arsenal live in four flagship EE stores in London, as part of a new BT Sport trial.
