Beanie Babies maker drops its first ever TV commercial

Leo Burnett ad shows the latest evolution of the toy line designed for the smartphone age

In case you missed the 1990s, Beanie Babies were a hot collectible item. In the decades since their glory days, Ty Inc. has churned out several iterations of the plastic bean-stuffed plush toys.

The latest, Peek-A-Boos, are the first Ty product to get a TV spot in the company's 29-year-long run. The commercial by Leo Burnett Chicago debuts on Black Friday.

The Peek-A-Boo toys are updated for kids with smartphones, with the toy acting as a smartphone stand and phone cleaner.
