GrubHub Inc. has handed its Seamless creative account to BBH New York — one year after the agency says it pitched and lost the business.
In 2014, GrubHub — the online restaurant delivery business that operates as Seamless in New York and London — selected Barton F. Graf 9000 following a competitive pitch that included BBH New York. Barton produced two ads for the company, including a well-received Super Bowl ad starring an aggressive flying burrito.
Now, the company has returned to BBH NY, naming the Publicis shop as the first creative AOR for its Seamless brand in New York. Barton, meanwhile, has not worked with GrubHub since February, a spokesperson for the agency confirmed.
"We're thrilled to be working with CMO Barbara Martin Coppola and the Seamless team." said BBH USA CEO Pat Lafferty in a statement. "Their passion for incisive strategy and courageous work make them the ideal partner. And, of course, we were already Seamless power users."
BBH will work on Seamless in New York only, not London, said the agency.
Seamless out-of-home ads are a familiar site to New Yorkers, appearing frequently on subway and payphone walls in recent years. Those ads were created by the company’s in-house creative team, and represent the extent of the brand’s advertising so far. BBH says its creative will appear on a variety of media.
Seamless and GrubHub joined forces following a 2013 merger. The company, which is based in Chicago, also includes MenuPages and Allmenus.
