Amanda Mackenzie: joins Prince's Responsible Business Network

Amanda Mackenzie, Aviva's chief marketing officer, is to take up a new role in October as chief executive of Business in the Community (BITC), The Prince's Responsible Business Network.

Mackenzie has been on secondment for the past 18 months from Aviva to Project Everyone, a Richard Curtis initiative to realise the UN’s Global Goals.

She will replace Stephen Howard, who announced in January he would stand down after 10 years. In the role, Mackenzie will work closely with Prince Charles, BITC’s president.

Mackenzie has worked at a senior level for FTSE 100 firms across a range of sectors including retail, insurance, energy and technology. At Aviva, she led the insurer’s rebrand from Norwich Union and became the first woman to sit on its group executive.

She is also on the board of Mothercare and The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

Mackenzie said in a statement: "For over 30 years Business in the Community has been lighting the way in helping companies conduct responsible business. I feel very privileged to lead this organisation. Their work is needed now more than ever before. I see our job to help businesses serve the communities around them that have helped them be successful."
