Thirty-six of the 77 awards in the category came from the US. Besides the Phelps piece, Droga5 and Under Armour claimed a Gold Lion for "USA Women's Gymnastics."

Other Gold Lions from this country include "The Picards" by Droga5 for Hennessy and "Looking Back" from FCB for Writing School.

"Phelps" also took gold for cinematography and use of licensed/adapted music, and it won the silver for cinematography.
