Arcadia Group's Latoya Kessie joins brand experience agency, Because

Brand experience agency Because has appointed Latoya Kessie as an account manager and Malcolm McLaren as senior account director.

Kessie, who was previously group marketing and events officer at Arcadia Group, will work on activations for Heineken, among other brands, from the conception stage through to evaluation.

McLaren joins Because from agency Avantgarde and will work on campaigns for clients including Maxxium, General Mills and British Gas. He will lead a client account management team and support the agency's ongoing business growth.

Kessie told Event: "I’m fortunate that I have worked both agency side and client side. I understand the daily challenges that clients face when dealing with approval processes for live events but can administer key actions quick enough to meet deadlines. My previous experience in the sport and fashion industry has also given me a good foundation to form creative solutions."

McLaren added: "Following an internship at Scottish Courage while at university, I've subsequently worked at some great agencies over the last 14 years on a variety of integrated and experiential campaigns across a broad range of clients. I've had my eye on Because for a while as they have always stood out with their campaigns and the talent they attract."
