New spot by Apple and TBWA\Media Arts Lab shows how technology can bridge the generation gap

A young woman jams over the top of an old vinyl recording of her grandmother singing unaccompanied, using Apple's hardware and software to lay down backing music and bridge the generation gap, in an emotive spot from the tech giant.

In the ad, by Apple and TBWA\Media Arts Lab, a woman finds an old record by her grandmother singing a capella, which she gave to her husband, the woman's grandfather, many years ago.

Using her Macbook, iPad and software such as Apple’s Garageband, the woman plays along to the song on the record with her guitar. She also records other parts, including vocal harmonies and piano for the track.
