Alistair MacCallum, UK chief executive of M/SIX, is joining Kinetic in the same role.
He replaces Stuart Taylor, who announced his departure in February.
Kinetic is the UK’s biggest out-of-home buying agency. This week, Campaign reported that WPP has closed Tenthavenue, the mini-holding company that housed Kinetic, with Kinetic now formally sitting within Group M.
MacCallum, who joined M/SIX in 2017, will begin his new role at the end of August. He will report to Marc-Antoine de Roys, Kinetic’s global chief executive, and work with Group M teams in the UK, as well as independent agencies.
MacCallum is set to be replaced by iProspect CEO Jack Swayne, who will be handed an expanded role of CEO UK and EMEA.
De Roys said: "With smartphones effectively acting as another OOH screen, and data enabling sophisticated planning and measurement on a par with other digital channels, the industry is at a tipping point. Ali will bring the vision and client knowledge of a long-serving media agency executive to augment Kinetic’s OOH expertise and deliver successfully on the transformation."
Before M/SIX, MacCallum was chief executive of M2M. The Omnicom agency closed in 2016.
MacCallum added: "Data and technology are helping to radically reshape the market and prove the role of OOH in influencing consumers right at the point of purchase, whilst maintaining its position as the most powerful channel through which to showcase creativity and build impact. I’m looking forward to taking the business forward to an even stronger market leading position."
