Air Jordan XXX brings Russell Westbrook's inner monologue to life

Wieden + Kennedy New York spot features a trash-talking kid and many stars

Some basketball players get shoes named after them. Others know the universe belongs to Michael Jordan —  they’re just living in it. Adrift in space, Russell Westbrook comes down to earth for a slow approach to the court. The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard only has a single line, but his thoughts are laid bare by the loud, brash, verbose kid who acts as his herald, talking Westbrook up and throwing subtle shade. It’s not apparent in the 60-second spot, but according to W+K, the kid is saying what Westbrook is thinking. By the end, the audience is thinking it, too.
