The event is being run in conjunction with the London Wine Fair, taking place at Kensington Olympia on 2-4 June.
Three Wine Week hubs have been designated as central hives for the week’s activity – the Riedel hub at Kingly Court, Carnaby, the wines from Rioja hub at Laithwaite’s, Borough Market, and the wine shop hub at Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge.
More than 130 venues throughout the capital have signed up to host taster and shopping events, while independent wine merchants such as Bedales of Spitalfields, Pall Mall Fine Wines and Planet of the Grapes will invite guests into their workshops for masterclasses, meet the maker sessions and discounts on bottles.
Attendees will purchase either £5 or £10 wristbands for access to the week’s events. Ticketed events are also on offer, such as chocolates and port pairing at Churchill’s Port House, make your own at London Cru Urban Winery and ten tastes of the Mediterranean at Union Street Café.
ABV Global bought London Cocktail Week’s founding company, Odd Firm of Sin, in February this year. Alongside the creation of London Wine Week, the company also have plans to organise Hong Kong Cocktail Week.
