Carat has scooped the publisher's media account in five markets, including the UK and De Agostini's home market of Italy, but MPG has retained the account in France.

The consolidation, which follows a pitch between Carat and other De Agostini roster agencies including OMD, ZenithOptimedia and MediaCom, results in the UK business moving from MPG to Carat.

De Agostini spent just over £1m on above-the-line media in the UK during 2009, according to The Nielsen Company.

Its recent products have included So Hannah Montana, Model Space and The Combat Tanks Collection.
