Creates "Holiday Magic" online with Google Street View

The East Coast may not be getting a white Christmas this year, but Wells Fargo is giving the gift of snow this holiday season with a digital experience that turns any neighborhood into a winter wonderland.

The bank has launched "Holiday Magic," a website that uses Google Maps’ Street View to give visitors a personal picture of what their neighborhoods would like in a snowy scene. When users enter their address or current location, the site generates a 3D rendering of the locale. With Street View’s 360-degree visibility capabilities, visitors can choice which part of the scene they want to customize and create a holiday card to send to friends and family online.

"Increasingly we’re seeing brands like Wells Fargo take that leap and put something fun and functional into the hands of their audience," said Matt Miller, executive creative director at BBDO San Francisco, in a statement. "While we’ve created a unique holiday experience, the magic is wrapped up in the interaction – those happy moments of connection, as people share it with their families and friends."

To create "Holiday Magic," Wells Fargo worked with its lead agencies BBDO and Organic, digital production shop Jam3, and Google’s in-house agency The Zoo.

The snowglobe-like digital experience is one of many online activities Wells Fargo offers consumers this season on a holiday-themed microsite. Customers can take quizzes, solve puzzles and donate toys to the Save the Children Fund.
