MEMPHIS, TN — Pest-control service Terminix has tasked its newly appointed PR and social media AOR Olson Engage with launching the brand’s "Fantasy Exterminator League."
Terminix brought on Olson Engage as its AOR for PR and social media following a competitive review, the agency confirmed. It did not disclose further information about the relationship or the review process this week.
For its first project for Terminix, Olson is helping the company launch the Terminix Fantasy Exterminator League. Mimicking the draft process of a fantasy football league, the campaign lets consumers draft three "players" they think will catch the most pests out of 10 exterminators listed. The brand unveiled a microsite where visitors can read about all 10 candidates to decide who they want on their teams.
Participants are competing for a chance to win a $5,000 prize that includes a 70" LED HD Smart TV, a surround-sound home-theater system, two La-Z-Boy recliners, and more.
Representatives from Terminix were not available for comment. It was not immediately clear whether the brand employed a PR or social media AOR before Olson Engage.
In October, ICF International acquired Olson, including PR arm Olson Engage, for $295 million in cash.
