Ted Danson channels Sam Malone in Smirnoff ad

The "Cheers" actor saddles up to a bar and tries to convince patrons that he's just a regular guy who drinks the Diageo-owned vodka.

Smirnoff has enlisted the help of relatable, American celebrities to debunk its elitist, Russian image in its "Only the Best For Everyone" campaign. In April, the brand cast model Chrissy Teigen in a four-part digital series, and today, it taps actor Ted Danson to promote the vodka in five videos. Created by 72andSunny New York, each 15-second snippet hammers home the facts that Smirnoff is made in America and is "surprisingly cheap." The concept works so well that it's a wonder why more alcohol brands haven't hired Danson before.
