Heineken's hard cider brand makes its U.S. television debut with images of a young couple, an idyllic beach scene and a horse trotting in slow motion

NEW YORK — Strongbow, the Heineken-owned hard cider brand, has launched its first ever U.S. TV ad, part of its wider "Cider at its Bestest" campaign.

The "Slow motion horse" spot shows a young couple strolling on a beach enjoying the drink, with a horse trailing them in slow motion, in an attempt to show how drinks brands are always trying to out-do each other.

An extended version of the ad rolled out online, and a 15-second spot will air later this fall.
