Spike Lee, Cyndi Lauper and Tony Bennett take a musical tour of NYC for the 60th Grammys

TBWA\Chiat\Day enlists a bevy of musical talent to trumpet the awards show's return to New York City next year.

The Grammy Awards are returning to New York, and a handful of the city’s best known artists take viewers on a musical tour of the boroughs in an announcement directed by Spike Lee. The 90-second spot for the Recording Academy, the organization that produces The Grammys, is from TBWA\Chiat\Day and features Q-Tip, Tony Bennett, Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper, Maxwell, Grandmaster Flash and Nile Rodgers. They share snippets of music history about James Brown, Leonard Cohen, Tito Puente, CBGB, Madonna, Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Alicia Keys, the Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Jimi Hendrix and Nas. Now in its 60th year, the Grammys will be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden on Jan. 28, 2018.
