Snickers' Marilyn Monroe isn't herself when pedestrians stare

BBDO New York turns Super Bowl spot into interactive billboard

A new online spot for Snickers from BBDO New York takes the candy brand’s popular Super Bowl ad to the streets with an interactive billboard. In the Super Bowl spot, a hungry Marilyn Monroe turns into Willem Dafoe on the set of "The Seven Year Itch." Passersby in New York City got the same experience in person. A billboard featuring Monroe and her iconic billowing skirt was equipped with a facial recognition camera. When the billboard detected a person` staring at the image, Monroe face shifted to Dafoe’s, accompanied by a grumpy warning. The installation ran in April, but the online spot is timed to coincide with what would have been Monroe’s 90th birthday earlier this week.
