Jeremy Bullmore hails JWT's 150th anniversary

The agency's sesquicentennial party in London featured a magical history tour from JWT's former chairman

LONDON — JWT celebrated its 150th anniversary on Friday and marked the milestone by changing its name back to J Walter Thompson.

Key industry figures gathered at the agency’s offices here, along with JWT alumni, on Thursday night and the agency put on a good show – with a giant ice sculpture bearing the agency’s logo, a jazz band and champagne.

But the highlight of the evening was a speech by Jeremy Bullmore CBE, JWT’s former chairman, who distilled JWT’s purpose over the past century-and-a-half into a neat and entertaining anecdote – "bringing the light to the dime."
