Assumes regional creative chief role for North America

NEW YORK — Eric Silver is joining McCann as chief creative officer for the North America region, winding down his agency Silver + Partners.

The staff and clients at Silver+Partners, where Silver was owner and chief creative officer, are being transitioned.

In the newly created role Silver reports to Rob Reilly, global creative chairman, McCann Worldgroup.

Silver formed his own agency in 2010, after taking a majority stake in Amalgamated New York which later became Silver + Partners.

Before this, Silver was chief creative officer at DDB New York and executive creative director at BBDO New York. He also has held creative roles at Wieden + Kennedy and Cliff Freeman and Partners.

"Eric is a ‘badass’ creative talent," Reilly said in a statement. "With the momentum we are having here in the States, especially New York, the timing couldn’t be better for him to join."

Silver’s appointment is the latest in a string of creative hires made by Reilly in New York, including the hiring of global creative directors James Dawson-Hollis and Bill Wright, and the promotion of John Mescall.
