The brands that made an impact on social platforms

A cat doing yoga, ice-cream burritos and banana pudding— brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, Cool Whip and Purina Cat Chow were some of the brands that made the largest impression last week, according to data from Unmetric.

Unmetric, a social media intelligence firm, uses an analytics platform to track brands with the highest amount of engagement for posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Unmetric’s engagement score rates each post from 0 to 1,000, depending on the amount of user interactions.

Here are the posts that reached an engagement score of 900-1,000:


On Facebook, Corvette uploaded 6 photos to its @Corvette on Instagram album, while advertising @CorvetteInstagram handle.The post garnered over 130,000 impressions, almost 15,000 shares and 1,444 comments with people sharing their own favorite photos of Corvette cars.

 Ben & Jerry’s

On April 19th, Ben & Jerry’s post about bringing back its ice-cream filled burrito got 22,000 impressions, over 6,000 shares and 4,300 comments. Acknowledging 4/20 in its post with hashtag #420 probably didn’t hurt—in fact, a lot of the comments praised the weed reference.

Cool Whip

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Cool Whip posted a photo of Southern Banana Pudding and included a link to the recipe. The brand also used its hashtag #WhipUpSmiles in the post that got 13,000 impressions, 4,000 shares and 228 comments.

Jimmy John’s

The sub sandwich chain poked some fun at Shia LaBeouf in this tweet that was retweeted more than 20,000 times and got more than 27,000 likes.

Purina Cat Chow

In a tweet that garnered 437 retweets and 72 likes, Purina Cat Chow merged cats and yoga.


This fun picture of girls jumping out of a boat in Thailand brought the camera brand 281,000 likes and 2,935 comments on Instagram. 

Beringer Vineyards  

The wine brand is reaping the benefits of a campaign with Instagram influencers Murad Osmann (4 million followers) and Nataly Osmann (947,000 followers). The series of photographs of Nataly leading Murad into different scenes lives on the brand’s website as well. This Instagram post of the official photo taking place received 2,575 likes and 91 comments.
