Chanel No. 5 has launched a three-minute film, directed by Baz Luhrmann and featuring supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
The cinematic ad, "the one that I want," was created in-house and somewhat emulates Luhrmann’s film "The Great Gatsby."
The ad features Bündchen surfing before she heads inside her Hampton home to find her husband has left her a note, which contains the words "the one that I want." She later reads the note while modeling, before rushing out of the studio to find her husband in a club.
The ad is set to a slow version of the song "You’re The One That I Want" from the 1978 film "Grease," performed by Lo-Fang.
The ad is reminiscent of Chanel’s 2005 ad "The Movie," which featured Nicole Kidman as her character Satine in Luhrmann’s film "Moulin Rogue." The estimated $28 million ad, also created in-house, was one of the most expensive ads ever made at the time.
