Alien museum exhibits Scott Baio, avocados, and other earthly pop culture artifacts

Avocados from Mexico is returning to the Super Bowl this year with 60-second spot from GSD&M set in an intergalactic museum featuring pop culture artifacts, including actor Scott Baio.

In the commercial, scheduled to air in the first quarter, a tour guide leads a colorful group of aliens through the "Museum of Earthly Wonders."  Items on display include the "Cube of Rubik," unsolvable by tiny human brains, an airplane, described as a "21st century torture device," the famous white and gold internet dress that caused "a civil war," emojis, and "most amazing of all," Avocados from Mexico. The guide offers the guests the opportunity to feed guacamole to the glass-encased actor.

A social media effort using the hashtag #AvosInSpace encourages viewers to help the kidnapped actor get back home.

The "Bounty of Earth" commercial marks the avocado brand’s second Super Bowl appearance. Avocados from Mexico made its game-day debut last year with a humorous commercial about the "First Draft Ever." In the ad, the brand was announced the winner of a prehistoric football styled-draft by former NFL stars Doug Flutie and Jerry Rice.
